Bladder mucosal integrity and function
Urogenital microbiome balance
Immune defense in the urinary tract
The Science Behind It
Urinary tract health depends on the body's ability to prevent harmful bacteria from adhering to the mucosal lining of the bladder and urethra — a process governed by specific plant compounds and the composition of the urogenital microbiome.
Cranberry proanthocyanidins (PACs) and D-Mannose work through complementary anti-adhesion mechanisms, creating an environment in the urinary tract that is inhospitable to pathogenic bacteria without disrupting the microbiome.
Vitamin C acidifies urine and supports urothelial immune function. Probiotics support the beneficial bacterial community of the urogenital tract.

What's inside — and why
Not just what we include, but the mechanism behind each choice.
Cranberry Extract (PAC-standardized)
Botanical / Urinary Tract Support
What it is
Cranberry extract is derived from the North American cranberry. Its active compounds — Type-A proanthocyanidins (PACs) — are unique to cranberry and are responsible for its urinary tract support mechanism. Products without PAC standardization may not contain meaningful levels of the active compounds.
What it does
Cranberry Type-A PACs prevent the adhesion of uropathogenic E. coli to the urothelial lining of the bladder and urinary tract — a critical step in the initiation of urinary tract infections. By preventing adhesion, they allow the body's natural flushing mechanisms to clear bacteria before colonization occurs.
Why Biohax includes it
PAC-standardized Cranberry Extract is included specifically for its anti-adhesion mechanism — the most documented pathway for urinary tract defense support.
D-Mannose
Simple Sugar / Urinary Tract Support
What it is
D-Mannose is a simple sugar closely related to glucose that occurs naturally in many fruits. Unlike glucose, approximately 90% of ingested D-Mannose passes into the urine largely unchanged, concentrating in the urinary tract.
What it does
In urine, D-Mannose binds to the mannose-binding lectins on the surface of E. coli — preventing them from attaching to the urothelial wall. They are then flushed out naturally during urination.
Why Biohax includes it
D-Mannose and PAC-standardized cranberry extract work through complementary anti-adhesion mechanisms — targeting different bacterial adhesin families. Together they provide more comprehensive anti-adhesion support than either compound alone.
