The Science Behind It
Your gut is more than a digestive organ. It is the site of approximately 70% of immune activity, the source of significant neurotransmitter production, and the barrier between the contents of your digestive tract and your bloodstream.
When that barrier is compromised — or when the microbial community within it loses balance — the effects ripple far beyond digestion.
This formula addresses gut health at every level: the microbial community (probiotics), the mucosal lining (L-Glutamine, Zinc Carnosine), and the structural barrier itself. A complete approach, not a single-ingredient fix.

Ingredient Deep Dive
What's inside — and why
Not just what we include, but the mechanism behind each choice.
L-Glutamine
Amino Acid / Gut Mucosal Fuel
What it is
L-Glutamine is the most abundant amino acid in the bloodstream and plays a uniquely important role in the gastrointestinal tract. Unlike most organs that rely primarily on glucose, the enterocytes lining the small intestine preferentially consume glutamine as their primary fuel source.
What it does
When glutamine availability is adequate, enterocytes maintain the tight junction complexes that seal the spaces between intestinal cells, preserving the gut barrier. When depleted, tight junctions become compromised, increasing intestinal permeability.
Why Biohax includes it
L-Glutamine is the primary mucosal fuel and tight junction support nutrient in this formula — addressing the structural foundation of gut barrier health.
Zinc Carnosine
Zinc Chelate / Gut Mucosal Protector
What it is
Zinc Carnosine is a unique chelated compound in which zinc and the dipeptide carnosine are bonded together. This chelation has biological properties that neither compound demonstrates independently. It was developed and approved as a pharmaceutical drug for gastric mucosal health in Japan.
What it does
Zinc Carnosine adheres selectively to damaged gastric mucosa, providing localized delivery to sites of intestinal injury. It stimulates the production of heat shock proteins, supports gastric epithelial cell proliferation, and remains intact much longer in the GI tract than free zinc or carnosine separately.
Why Biohax includes it
We include Zinc Carnosine for its mucosal adhesive and restorative properties — targeting the intestinal lining repair that is the foundation of gut barrier health.
